“Proper planning prevents a poor performance!” A phrase the now adult children of JEADL Enterprises heard plenty, growing up…if you didn’t know before…now you do!
Sooo, now that you know, what are you planning??? It doesn’t matter! As long as you plan properly.
Granted anyone can plan a party, a shower, a wedding, a conference, a pop-up; but it takes a special kind of diligence to execute it. First thing a proper planner does is make a list. When doing so JEADL Ent, recommends considering these things before all else:
What type of event is this? Who is invited? How will I pay for it?
Once you have decided these three basic things, you can move on to the nitty gritty!
Date/Time Location Theme/Decor
The next thing you want to do is breakdown the factors that play into your time, your space and your vision. Your checklist should at the minimum include prep time, fun time/itineraries, breakdown time, vendors, prices, layout options, color schemes, items of décor and their prices, list of team members and their duties…and a complete breakdown of the budget. A more in-depth list would include deadlines, appointments, receipts, and more.
Still, after you have gone through these steps, you have officially began building the habit of proper planning. It can be tedious, but it’s worth it in the end.
